Do You Really Understand Socialism??

I wonder if those, other than the power seeking politicians, of you out there who believes that Socialism is the form of government we should have in place here in our country, really understands what that term actually means.

First let me tell you a joke that comes to mind that I was told in my younger years about the 3 guys who died and went to hell and the devil took them on a tour and showed him the facilities where they would spend eternity. The devil said to them "You have come to hell, and you must now choose weather to spend eternity in room 1, 2 or 3" He then opened the doors to three rooms. Room 1 was filled with men standing on their heads, on a hard wooden floor. Room 2 was filled with men standing on their heads, on a cement floor. Finally, room 3 had just a few men, standing in crap up to their knees and drinking coffee. The men thought for a while, and decided to go with room 3, as it was less crowded and they could just stand around and drink coffee. They entered the door to room 3, and just as it was closing behind them, the devil said "OK men, coffee breaks over. Back on your heads."

Now these guys, although fictitious, looked at 3 situations one that was hard, one that was harder, and one that was what appeared to be easy, and hence, took the easy way out. Alas, standing on your head in knee deep crap is far worse than standing on your head on a hardwood or concrete floor. For those thinking socialism is the way to go, you are taking the easy way out, making it easier on yourself, thinking you won't have to work so hard, that others will do it for you and reward you for it. So, lets take a look at our counties political agenda and see if I can help you make sense of how foolish anyone can be to think that Socialism is the way our country should turn.

I think we should examine each of the following scenarios one at a time to help you see exactly what each of them are, and what they would create should the be implemented. Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, Marxism, Fascism, and lets throw in a little Liberalism and Conservatism.

Lets start with Socialism as that seems to be the direction the democrats in this country are trying to steer everyone at this time. The definitions that I am going to give you will all come from the American Heritage Dictionary.

Socialism: aka Liberalism:( there really isn't any difference, so I will lump them together)
1. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.
2. The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which collective ownership of the economy under the dictatorship of the proletariat has not yet been successfully achieved.

You had better read that again.
Stage between Capitalism and Communism because the dictatorship has not yet been successfully achieved.

Achieved: (thought I better give you the definition of this word also)
To perform or carry out with success; accomplish.
To attain with effort or despite difficulty.
Well there you have it. If you are ambitious and are wiling to work hard you can ACHIEVE success, if you are lazy and just want to sit around on your butt all day and whine, you will achieve NOTHING, and the rest of us don't owe you a damn thing!!

That should say it all. When socialism comes to power it is because the government was able to convince the people that they are being cheated because someone has something they don't or is getting something they are not, and under socialism, the government will take it away from those who have it and give it to those who don't. Once this is in place, there is no longer a desire to achieve, why in heck would I want to succeed just so I could turn around and give it to you.....if you want it, get your butt out there and work for it like I had to, plain and simple. You no longer have a life of your own, because liberty is the first thing to go, and the goon squad will be right there to see to it. As I told you in a previous post if you remember, about the Young Democratic Socialists of America and their attempt to intertwine Liberty, Democracy and Socialism, which is an attempt to promote Marxist ideas within the bounds of democracy, it is impossible, it will not work, you will be owned and controlled by the government!! If you listen to the politicians talk they will do everything in their power to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside about how socialism will be your Godsend to take care of and protect you just like your mommy did when you were 4 years old. You are no longer 4 years old....grow up!

Communism:
1. A theoretical economic system characterized by the collective ownership of property and by the organization of labor for the common advantage of all members.
2. Communism
a. A system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people.
b. The Marxist-Leninist version of Communist doctrine that advocates the overthrow of capitalism by the revolution of the proletariat.

In other words, you stand at attention, stretch forth your arm with you had elevated slightly and you yell sieg heil whenever the feurer opens his mouth. You have nothing, no property, no liberty and no dissent and the political party is exercising total and complete control. EVERYTHING is controlled and owned by the party. Oh and here's in interesting note, as of 1999 the statistics showed that communism had been responsible worldwide for the deaths of 100 million people, and that was 9 years ago

Fascism:
A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.
Oppressive, dictatorial control.

There was also a description of Fascism in the American Heritage Dictionary that can describe this much better than I can, so here it is:
Word History: It is fitting that the name of an authoritarian political movement like Fascism, founded in 1919 by Benito Mussolini, should come from the name of a symbol of authority. The Italian name of the movement, fascismo, is derived from fascio, "bundle, (political) group," but also refers to the movement's emblem, the fasces, a bundle of rods bound around a projecting axe-head that was carried before an ancient Roman magistrate by an attendant as a symbol of authority and power. The name of Mussolini's group of revolutionaries was soon used for similar nationalistic movements in other countries that sought to gain power through violence and ruthlessness, such as National Socialism.

Oh there's that word again....Socialism attained power through ruthlessness and violence. I don't have to say anything more on Fascism......except maybe that there are actually people out there who were outraged that Saddam was hung. Maybe you were just waiting around and hoping to be taken to the outskirts of town and have your head chopped off! Say, would you also be willing to strap on an explosive device and blow yourselves up in the name of Allah??? I say good riddance!

Marxism:
The political and economic philosophy of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in which the concept of class struggle plays a central role in understanding society's allegedly inevitable development from bourgeois oppression under capitalism to a socialist and ultimately classless society.

Sounds like communism with a different name, and the same objectives. Well, I don't know about you, but I sure as heck do not want to be the same as everyone else out there. I have had a life of ups and downs, some really good ups, and some really hard downs. I am not a rich man, far from it, but I do not begrudge anyone who is. I could have been rich, but my choice was my family. They were more important than stockpiles of money, so I worked my business at a moderate level, made good money, took care of my family and I am happy. Oh and my family sure loves to go to Disneyland, and without capitalism, there would be no Disneyland, or Sea World, or Magic Mountain, or a nice hotel to stay in while you were there, or a great place to have a meal. I enjoy these things, and I am glad that there are people out there who were willing to sacrifice, work their tails off and create them for the rest of us. So what if they have more money than I do, I probably have things they don't and they wished they had. I still have my same family after all these years, how many rich people can say that. There are trade offs, you pick the one you want, and let others pick the one they want, the government has no business deciding any of these things for you, and they sure as hell do not have the right to take from me and give to you because I am willing to work harder. I'm curious, is there now or has there ever been a Disneyland or anything remotely similar in Russia, Germany, Cuba or anywhere else that adheres to a non capitalist form of government, unless a company from America went there and built it?? Seems to me that in reading about Russia during the communist years up to the time that communism was abolished just for example, that everything was old, dirty, grayish in color, no running water, plumbing, grocery stores, electronics stores, restaurants of any form, people were starving, dying from disease and lack of medical attention just to name a few. Seems to me I remember the only people who had decent food, clothes and housing were the leaders of the party, those who took control. Is it much different nowadays? The country was so impoverished that it has been almost impossible for them to get on track even up till now. Eventually they will accomplish many things, but only if they remain in a capitalist state. I find it interesting, that there are those who would be willing to give up everything they have in this country to have nothing and be under the control of someone else. If this is really the case, and there are people out there who are really willing to give up everything to gain nothing, then all I can say is that you are dumber than a bag of hammers!!

Everything I have talked about thus far has one basic objective. The politicians in charge work feverishly to poison the minds of the lower classes in order to make them resent those who have achieved wealth and success and ultimately take control and seize power.

So here we come to Capitalism tied in with Conservatism.
Capitalism:
1. An economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development is proportionate to the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market.
Conservatism:
The inclination, especially in politics, to maintain the existing or traditional order.
A political philosophy or attitude emphasizing respect for traditional institutions, distrust of government activism, and opposition to sudden change in the established order.
Caution or moderation, as in behavior or outlook.

Pretty much says it all, we are free to pursue our dreams, own a home, a business, we have liberty, personal property, places to go, places to enjoy, freedom of speech to tell you that if you don't like what America is and what it's constitution guarantees us as American Citizens, that you can pack your bags and get the hell out, cause we don't want you here destroying what so many have died fighting to protect. This is America, land of the free, home of the brave, and it is the land of the free, because of the brave.
So, all in all, we enjoy an economic system that is based on private ownership of capital, and the freedom to achieve greatness, wealth and success. Which is why we, and now other places in the world, have Disneyland!!
